Assignment 7A

For this assignment, I was required to create and edit images using Photoshop. I thought it was fun, though I did become quite frustrated with the eraser tool when I was attempting to edit the flowers and clock for the color splash images. Regardless, my favorite tool is the cloning tool. I thought it was amazing how I could manipulate the images I used, shown on the last two slides. The “after” image of the field with the rock and person amazed me. For my first time using this tool in Photoshop, in my opinion, I felt it appeared unaltered. It didn’t look overly blurry nor did it look warped as some Photoshop fails shown in the “Removing Objects” video.

My favorite images are of my friends Belle (in red) and Kate (in navy) and how I managed to crop hats onto their heads. Other than being fun and cute, I was amazed and how easy it was to manipulate an image in that manner. The pictures brought back several memories, especially considering that Belle is away at college. The three of us agreed that those images were funny and exemplified their personalities: Belle loves her country twang and Kate enjoys playing Minecraft. Those two images are my favorite due to sentimental reasons but also because of how much I enjoyed using the place tool.

This assignment was interesting and helped me understand Photoshop in a way that will aid me in not only future assignments, but also my own personal projects. I definitely plan to use the place tool among others so I can create more interesting edits that feature my friends.
