For this assignment, I worked by myself and decided to discuss how mental health impacts teenagers. The statistics I used in this infographic were used in order to emphasize how serious this issue is. The graphic I created gives a visual representation of how dramatic the graduation rate is between students who have mental illnesses and those who do not. By including this piece of data, I wanted to convey how detrimental mental illness can be to a teenager’s education and future. This, including other information I gathered, helped deliver my message.
The emotion I wanted to create with my audience is a somber one. Again, as aforementioned, it is a serious subject and should not be taken likely. My audience is not just limited to teenagers, however; parents, school administrators, and teenagers would be my ideal audience.
I chose this design because it is simple, easy-to-follow, and thought it prove to be the easiest when trying to deliver my message. I did not want to clutter it with graphics so it would be accessible to everyone rather than having it be too complicated and be marketed towards a specific age group.
